Tools: Screwdriver , Ratchet , Allan keys , Torque wrench , Pressure Pump Gun , Audi Wrench (#T10066) .
Prep: The oil in the Haldex coupling has to be at 20-40°C . So, the first thing you need to do is go for a short warm up drive .
Step 1: Good access to the underside of the car is required . There has to be quite a bit of clearance , so jacking up or using small ramps probably won't do . A pit or car lift will be necessary .
Step 2: Remove right hand side cover by undoing 3 clips and 2 socket-head cap screws:

Step 3: While holding a container underneath to collect the oil, unscrew the drain plug on the bottom of the housing:

Step 4: Using the T10066 Wrench loosen and unscrew the oil filter which is well concealed . It's quite fidgety to get the wrench onto the filter to loosen it, then unscrew by hand . Have a container underneath to collect oil:

Note: There are two parts to the filter: the filter itself and a cap (which u tighten with the wrench) that holds the filter. The metal filter I replaced (right) was different from the new plastic/paper filter (left). I don't know why I had a metal one but I'll try to recondition and re-use it as it's likely to be better.

Step 5: Coat the new filter seal with some oil, screw it in place by hand and then tighten with the T10066 wrench.
Step 6: Holding the pressure gun vertically pump all the oil from the tube into the drain hole . Remove the gun and quickly thread in the drain plug (tighten to 15Nm ) . It's messy so be careful or you'll end up with oil on your shorts :)

Finally: Replace the cover, check for any leaks after a day or so and you're done . Such a straight forward exercise and yet so expensive at the dealer . Cost £35 for the oil and filter and I borrowed the T10066 wrench as I couldn't find someone selling it at the time (normally costs £20ish) .
